A college graduate! You guessed it, this blogger has finally graduated. These past few weeks I had gotten so busy with homework, projects, finals, and job interviews that my blog missed out on some major loving, but now that I graduated I am back at it. One other noteworthy change that happened in the past week is that I moved back to my hometown in North Dakota. So here I am, a recent college grad living back in my hometown. When I decided to move back here I had one thing in mind and that is to make an impact. In order to make the most make an impact I came up with a few goals to get me started on the right path.
1. Network
Networking doesn't just provide job opportunities but it also gives you a chance to meet like minded individuals. I have taken the first step into this networking community by joining the Young Professionals Network and oh boy I am so excited! I even requested to be put on the the marketing, social, and service teams. I cannot wait to attend an event! I also plan on attending 1millioncups events when they are available to check out the creative and entrepreneurship energy of this town.
2. Find a Job
While some may say I have been picky with my applications, I say I want a job that I will truly enjoy. I have put out dozens of applications both in North Dakota and Minnesota which have helped me get quite a few interviews under my belt. All of those interviews encouraged me to practice and get out of my comfort zone so much so that by the 5th interview I was more confident in my answers. This whole process lead me to land a paid internship as a communications specialist, which I just accepted today! Such an exciting adventure awaits!
3. Give Back
Being a part of a sorority in college made me realize that I am enamored with helping people and giving back to the community I live in. I plan on giving back by being a part of the service team with the Young Professionals Network, getting more involved in my family's nonprofit Tracy's Sanctuary House, and seeking out individual volunteer opportunities.
4. Maintain A Consistent Blog Schedule
In order to stay on top of my blogs and not let another accidental hiatus happen I plan to put a blogging schedule into place. This is where I will utilize a planner specifically for blogs and brainstorming! Does anyone have suggestions for a place to get cute planners? In the meantime I will have to figure something out.
Now that I have them written down for all the world to see I will be more inclined to achieve success. By the end of the summer I will be a better business woman because I set these goals for myself. Did you set any goals for the summer?
